Ice Climber in Wales Survives 100-foot fall/slide

Is there a lesson in this? Keep your eye out for the small piece of falling ice about 30 seconds in. That's what unglues him.

In that exact instant, I can't predict what I would have done.

However, after examining the video, it's clear that trying to fend off the ice with his hand is what precipitated everything.

Given that, the better course would probably be to to duck your head, hug the ice and your ice axes as close and tight as possible and let the ice bounce off your helmet.

Regardless, I love happy endings.
