This is a follow-up to my Hacking The Pioneer Pro Water Filter post.
I tested the hack over Memorial Day while riding my mountain bike all over the Santa Barbara area. It works CRAZY GOOD!
And while some reviews of the filter have dinged it for an added difficulty in sucking water, I did not find it objectionable. Yes, harder than without the filter, but not a significant bother.
One final hack: notice the black, re-usable cable tie that holds the drinking tube to the CamelBak refill handle. Without that, the filter sticks out in an awkward and perpendicular manner that makes filling the bladder difficult. Otherwise, this is the hack I described.
This now goes top the mountain with me.
